We are trying to configure the read timeout to slow sources (1 message / 30 sec) but we realised that this parameter is hardcoded in the code (""READ_TIMEOUT 16000"" definition in source.c).

As a workaround we have modified the source code to permit the redefinition of this variable using the CFLAGS but we think that the best option would be allowing the configuration of this parameter directly in the ntripcaster.conf (for example, a ""read_timeout"" key in the server limits section).
